Rafael Ferrer

Rafael Ferrer was born in 1966 in Spain. Specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health, he has a Diploma in Advanced Studies in psychobiology (neuroscience) and has participated in conducting studies on how yoga and meditation influence wellbeing. 

He started to practice Buddhism in 1986 when he also met Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche for the first time. He took Refuge as Buddhist with Kalu Rinpoche in 1987 and Upasaka (lay) vows from Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche in 1989.

Since 1986 he has worked at different FPMT local, national and European level, both in organizational and educational positions. 

Rafael is an FPMT registered teacher that studied Basic Program subjects already back in the 90s under the General Studies Program, and part of the Master Program in Italy 2008-2011. He has extensively translated for lamas, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness Sakya Trizin, Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche and other teachers from English to Spanish over 3 decades. Currently he is living in Switzerland.
