Zoom Etiquette

Do try to replicate in our online classes the traditional Tibetan Buddhist teaching etiquette that would normally be followed when receiving teachings in person, please make an effort to follow the guidelines outlined below:

  • Please make an effort to follow a few guidelines (zoom etiquette).
  • Dress appropriately as if you were attending a class in Longku Center in person.
  • You are requested to join approx. 10 - 15 minutes before the scheduled start time, 15 mins before the session, classroom is open for greetings.
  • Sit comfortably and appropriately so that you are comfortable, but no lying down or  slumped over.
  • Refrain from eating during the session. If necessary enjoy your tea/water/coffee.
  • No smoking.
  • As soon the Teacher is there, keep your microphone muted, unless at the end to say goodbye or when asking a question during Q&A time.
  • If your mic is not working properly, or if you prefer, please type your question in the chat box and it will be read out by the Host.
  • Do not write any unnecessary comments in the chat box during class as we do not normally chat during a class. (e.g. “Good question!”, “Thanks!” etc.).
  • Turn your video strictly off if you are moving around or need to get up.
  • During Q&A:
To ask a question: raise the little hand in the icon section at the bottom and wait in the queue. Host will call out to you when it is your turn and request you to unmute and to speak.
  • At the end of the class you may unmute yourself to say thanks to the Teacher.

Thank you for respecting this etiquette.
Your Longku Team
