It is with great pleasure that we announce that Venerable Geshe Tenzin Zopa will lead a week-long Lamrim retreat in combination with the practice of Lama Chöpa.
The focus of the retreat will be further explanations of the text by the great Tibetan master Je Tsong Khapa, “The Middle Lamrim”. Geshe Tenzin Zopa began giving explanations of this text as early as 2022. (the recordings are freely accessible online in the Longku media library).
The “Lamrim” or translated “Step Path to Buddhahood” shows how an individual can progress along the entire path to enlightenment (Buddhahood). The Lamrim is an essential summary of the entire Buddhist teachings and brings together all of the more than 84,000 instructions given by the Buddha Shakyamuni, including sutra and tantra.
The Lama Chöpa practice comes from Vajrayana and, in conjunction with Lamrim, is a very profound and powerful method for making progress on the path to enlightenment.
One-focused meditations and the Vajrasattva cleansing practice are also integrated into the retreat.
The retreat is suitable for serious practitioners with a basic understanding of Buddhist philosophy who wish to deepen their practice.
The retreat will take place at the beautiful Thubten Jamtse Ling center in Sorens. The number of participants is limited.

To Geshe-la:
Geshe-la was born in 1972 in the Tsum Valley in Nepal. The esteemed late Geshe Lama Konchok became Geshe Zopa's spiritual and temporal protector when Geshe-la was three years old. From then on, Geshe Lama Konchok commented on various important Buddhist sutra and tantra texts for Geshe Zopa. Geshe Tenzin Zopa became Geshe Lama Konchok's closest student and was his assistant and translator until his teacher's death in 2001.
Geshe Tenzin Zopa holds the honorary Geshe Lharampa degree (doctorate) from Sera Je Monastic University in South India, having completed the 20-year monastic curriculum in just 17 years.
Geshe-la is a prolific teacher and author of 12 books. He currently lives in Australia and Nepal and has extensive global involvement as he follows the advice of Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche in his work for the FPMT, helping students understand and put into practice the Buddha's teachings internationally.
