Introduction to the Ngöndro Practice
The preliminary practices are accessible to all buddhist practitioners.
They are usually done during a retreat structure.
In the Gelug School tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, they can also be done in parallel with all other stages of practice.
However, the stated aim is to prepare the ground for the path of Vajrayana (Tantric practice).
Geshe Tenzin Zopa explains the origins, meaning and nature of the various practices in 8 teachings. Also - and we are very grateful for this! - how we can do them ourselves at home.
